The Cubs were healthy for 1 day!
One day after Aramis Ramirez, Reed Johnson, and Angel Guzman all came back from the DL and all seemed right with the world and the Cubs looked to be at full strength and they looked ready to make a run at the top of the division, Ryan Dempster goes down. So what the fuck does this mean for the Cubs starting rotation?
Kevin: First of all…. SERIOUSLY?!?!?!? Does God hate the Cubs that much that they aren’t allowed 1 day with everybody healthy. And the way in which Dempster broke his toe may be the dumbest injury since Sammy Sosa threw out his back by sneezing. Jumping over the dugout fence to high five your teammates after a win! Really?!?! There’s freakin’ stairs right next to you!!! I’m not only pissed about this because Dempster is an All-Star pitcher but also because he’s on my fantasy team and I’m screwed! As for the Cubs. They should be fine. The rest of the rotation has been dominant, except for Harden who has been iffy. Kevin Hart is taking Dempster’s place and his first start of the season is in about 15 minutes so I’m going to have to make the rest of this quick. The bullpen is starting to come together, the rest of the starting rotation is solid and I believe that very soon the offense will pick it up. By offense I mean Ramirez, Soriano, and Bradley. Dempster will be the 3rd Cubs starter to go on the DL this year and the Cubs were able to survive when Zambrano and Harden went down, so they’ll be fine while Dempster’s out. Although it looks like he’ll be out for a month since it’s a broken toe on his right foot. The Cubs should be fine, but it’s just another injury to the gigantic list of injuries the Cubs have suffered this year which will make winning the division in spite of these injuries that much sweeter. On a side note, Mark DeRosa was sent to the DL for the Cards which is a clear cut sign that he still is a Cub at heart and really doesn’t want to play for those assholes down south. Thanks Mark.
